A Love Letter to US

We are travelers from the Bering Land Bridge with names like Cherokee, Seminole, Hopi, and Navajo. We are settlers from England and Spain in search of religious freedom. We are immigrants from Ireland and Italy, from China and Japan, from Syria and Iran searching for a better life for our children and grandchildren. We are United.

We are Puerto Rican, Guamanian, residents of the US Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa. We are American.

We are towns; We are cities; We are counties; We are states. We are forced immigrants from Africa, yet we have embraced this country as our home. We are Columbian and Venezuelan; We are Greek and French; We are Mexican and Canadian; We are from every continent of the world.
We are white and brown; We are black and mocha; We are the rainbow for the world to see.

We are Hindu, Christian, and Jewish; We are agnostic and atheists; We are Muslim and Sikh and Pagen; We worship who we want without persecution.

We are the bouquet of races fused together to experience this American diaspora together; We are a hodgepodge of cultures; We are the mutts of the world.

We are who We are; We love who We love; We are the thoughts We think; We are the freedom We exercise.

We are the palette of flavors from every country; We sing the song of humanity in our own key and our own rhythm in unison; We harmonize in our towns, our cities, our states and our country; We are the symphony of the Earth; We are the music of our planet.

We reach for excellence through the diversity of thought, the diversity of nature, and the diversity of US. We are living the experiment of Americana; We are US.

No other country attempts what We have. Our greatness is in our openness, our acceptance of others. To include is more powerful than exclusion.

The one thing We have that makes US different, that makes US admired, that makes US excellent is We are United and when unity is threatened, We lose what makes us, US. We are the UNITED States of America.

Texas, New York, and Utah, we need you! Illinois, Nebraska and Kentucky, you are US. Hawaii, Georgia and Montana, you are vital to our existence. Florida and Alabama, you both are needed for our unity. Wyoming, Connecticut and New Jersey, your advancements are treasures to US all. California, Mississippi, and North Carolina, We are you. Maine, Louisiana and Washington, you hold us together. Every state is the puzzle piece which makes US complete and vital in carrying on.

United is our first name. United is our superpower. United is what makes us exist. United is the glue of America.
Without UNITED, there is no US.
