We are Puerto Rican, Guamanian, residents of the US Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa. We are American.
We are towns; We are cities; We are counties; We are states. We are forced immigrants from Africa, yet we have embraced this country as our home. We are Columbian and Venezuelan; We are Greek and French; We are Mexican and Canadian; We are from every continent of the world.
We are white and brown; We are black and mocha; We are the rainbow for the world to see.
We are Hindu, Christian, and Jewish; We are agnostic and atheists; We are Muslim and Sikh and Pagen; We worship who we want without persecution.
We are the bouquet of races fused together to experience this American diaspora together; We are a hodgepodge of cultures; We are the mutts of the world.

Florida and Alabama, you both are needed for our unity. Wyoming, Connecticut and New Jersey, your advancements are treasures to US all. California, Mississippi, and North Carolina, We are you. Maine, Louisiana and Washington, you hold us together. Every state is the puzzle piece which makes US complete and vital in carrying on.
